With over a decade of experience in diving and coaching, Kaeden Cogbill has established himself as a transformative figure in the diving community of Southern California. From coaching high school champions to guiding collegiate athletes to record-breaking success, Kaeden’s passion for the sport and dedication to his athletes are unparalleled.
A Legacy of Coaching Excellence: Kaeden began his diving journey as a competitor for Cypress College in 2012, following his training with a local Southern California diving club. His coaching career started in 2011 at Marina High School, where he has led the team to five varsity Sunset League Championships, three J/V Championships, and countless CIF appearances. In 2015, he was honored as Marina’s Coach of the Year. In 2023, Kaeden coached Newport Harbor’s Corinna Ruffini to CIF Finals, a NISCA All-American Award, and a school record—all as a freshman.
Kaeden's collegiate coaching career includes successful stints at Cerritos College, where he trained the top three South Coast Conference female divers in 2016 and earned the South Coast Conference Diving Coach of the Year Award. At Whittier College, Kaeden guided divers to NCAA D3 Regionals and Nationals, breaking 25-year-old records in his first year. At Orange Coast College, Kaeden played a pivotal role in securing a State Championship for the swim and dive team in 2018 and continued to coach athletes to top finishes in subsequent years.
In 2020, Kaeden joined Pepperdine University, where he helped the Division 1 swim and dive team secure a second-place finish in the PCSC Championships in 2021. After a successful season, he shifted focus to teaching and building the continued success of Coast Divers and high school teams across Orange County.

Athletes have qualified for AAU Nationals, Zone Championships, and USA Diving National Championships.
Allison McNichols won her 1-meter event at the 2022 AAU National Championships and earned a spot on the AAU National Team.
Kaeden coached multiple divers, including Allison McNichols and Corinna Ruffini, to join the prestigious AAU National Team.
Beyond the Pool: Kaeden’s academic achievements include a Master’s Degree in Psychology and a teaching credential in Health Science and Psychology. He is currently a commercial broker with KW Commercial, focusing on industrial units.

Sandy Cruttenden brings an unparalleled level of expertise and passion to the Coast Divers coaching team. With an impressive career as a world-class athlete and over a decade of coaching experience, Sandy is dedicated to inspiring and developing the next generation of divers.
A Legacy of Athletic Excellence: As a former member of the Mission Viejo Nadadores Diving Team, Sandy’s achievements in diving are extraordinary. She is a 5-time Junior National Champion, the 1991 Junior World Champion, and was a member of the USA Senior National Team from 1993 to 1998. Competing internationally, she represented the United States with distinction and was an Olympic Trials Qualifier.
At Corona Del Mar High School, Sandy dominated the boards, winning four Sea View League Championships and three CIF-SS Championships. She completed her competitive diving career at the University of Miami in 1998, cementing her legacy as one of the sport’s finest.
Passion for Coaching: Sandy’s coaching career reflects her dedication to sharing her knowledge and love for diving. She has previously coached lessons and novice programs at Mission Viejo and Irvine and led the Fountain Valley High School Diving Team from 2005 to 2011.
In fall of 2023, Sandy joined the Coast Divers coaching staff, where she continues to inspire athletes with her extensive experience, technical expertise, and unwavering support for her divers.

Hayley Montague is an accomplished diving coach and former student-athlete with a passion for helping others reach their full potential. Hailing from Mission Viejo, California, Hayley’s diving journey began in 2010 and led her to a standout career as a springboard and platform diver at Louisiana State University (LSU). Before college, she competed for SoCal Divers in Fullerton, CA, where she sharpened her skills and developed a deep love for the sport.
In addition to her coaching role at Coast Divers, Hayley is the head diving coach at Ocean View High School in Huntington Beach, California. Known for her leadership and teamwork, she has a natural ability to motivate and inspire her athletes, guiding them through both the mental and physical aspects of diving.
Outside of diving, Hayley is dedicated to mentoring young athletes, working with animals, and staying active. Her passion for personal growth and her dedication to fostering success in others make her an invaluable coach to her athletes at both Coast Divers and Ocean View High School.
